[Error: unknown template qotd]Yep. I can't say I have any conclusive proof, but I've had different time periods "speak to me." If I'm watching a show or movie about a certain event or time period, I get a strong sensation of having been there before. I remember the first time I saw a preview of "Titantic" that it felt bizarrely real to me. It felt like it was happening to me, that I was drowning. The emotion was really strong. I practically started crying over a damn preview. Then again, I could have just been PMSing. :)

I love pirate stories and movies. I always stop to watch "Pirates of the Carribean" when it's on or maybe it's just because of Kiera Knightly. *wg*

There's a real element of daredevilness to piracy, isn't there? I mean, with navies and merchant ships, people tended to have some idea where they were going, where they were meant to be and when. Merchants especially followed fixed routes. But once you were a pirate, if the shit hit the fan you really were on your own.
But I suppose if Keira was there you wouldn't mind, you cheeky monkey ;)
