Disclaimers: Guiding Light and Otalia belong to CBS and P&G. I’m getting nothing from this but a little bit of amusement.
A/N: My version of a resolution of the spa trip and how we may eventually get to a mutual kiss. ‘Cause I.WANT.IT. like yesterday!
Natalia couldn’t believe it had gone bad so fast. They had been getting massages and giving each other those looks that certainly meant more than them being friends. She thought they were getting somewhere and all of a sudden, Olivia threw in that jab about her religion. She was tired of it. Tired of the confusion and awkwardness and uncertainty.
She needed for them to get their act together. Get on some kind of clear path and have an understanding, but the chances were getting further and further away the more Olivia packed her bag.
“This was a mistake.” Olivia was finished and storming for the door.
Natalia spun around, furious, “You know, this is just great! Go ahead, run away…again!” Natalia stalked over to her and as Olivia pulled the door open, she slammed it back closed.
“Stop running, Olivia, and talk to me.”
“What do you want me to say? I don’t have the answers. I don’t know what to say to people yet because we haven’t even done anything yet. We haven’t even kissed, for Christ’s sake!” The tears threatened to come, but Natalia wasn’t going to let her sit with those words in her head, letting herself obsess and worry over them.
“Do you want to kiss me?”
“What?”
Natalia stepped a little into her personal space, “Do you want to kiss me?” Natalia smiled a little at the still dazed look on Olivia’s face. “Well, I want to kiss you…a lot. I want to hold your hand. Sit next to you at dinner. Look into your eyes as we take a moonlit walk. There are so many things I want to do with you, Olivia, but I can’t when you keep running away or looking for something terrible to happen. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.”
Olivia dropped her heavy bag and leaned back against the door. She looked into Natalia’s eyes, seeing the truth of her love there. She had to let whatever was holding her back go before it destroyed the one good thing she ever had in this sorry world.
“I do want to kiss you. God, you have no idea how much!”
“You’d be surprised what I know,” Natalia smiled at Olivia’s lifted eyebrow.
“Do tell, Ms. Rivera.”
Natalia reached for Olivia’s hand, stroking the long fingers again with her own, like she had done earlier in the day, “Only if you take a walk with me.”
Olivia entertwined her fingers with Natalia’s and raised the hand to her lips, gently kissing it as her eyes fluttered shut. Finally, she looked back up and Natalia shivered at the look of barely restrained passion, “Okay. Let’s go.”
