Hmmmm..you would think kids would be doing it as rebellion against their parents.
I had controlling (grand)parents who never let me do anything. I didn't date a lot in high school, but when I did it was my best friend, so they let me go to her house all the time. (I was like the adopted daughter to her mother for awhile.) I was 15 when we were first together, but I didn't do it out of rebellion against the controlling 'rents.
