Pneumonia SUCKS!!!

I usually don' t post personal stuff, but if anyone wondered why I've kind of disappeared, I was diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday and this is truly the suckiest I've ever felt in my entire life.

I've had some horrible cases of the flu, bronchitis, and even a tonsillectomy that caused me to lose 10 pounds in a week because I couldn't keep any food down, but this...this is the worst.  I tried earlier to do a simple breakfast with pancakes and grits (it was all like instant pack stuff so it took like 5 minutes to do).  Before I could even finish it, I was sweating profusely yet I was freezing and I just made it to the bathroom before losing what little food I had in me.

Blah, you'd think this would be the perfect time for me to finish the fics and such for IDF, but damn if I feel like even opening my computer much less doing anything.  In fact, this is like only the third time today I've even turned on my computer and that's sooooo not like me.

Actually, I just did it (thanks for reminding me *g*) and I got this:

ANDROGYNE
Your score placed you in the category of Androgyne. This is the true middle of the road, neither butch nor femme. You may also wish to review Soft Androgyne and Hard Androgyne, the two categories surrounding you. In a ranking across the femme/butch gamut, if 1 is femme and 100 is butch, you fall between 48 and 52 on the scale. For a review of where you fall in the overall population in numbers, refer to this chart. Your group encompasses folks of all types, genders, and orientations, though is not as large a part of the population as the hard and soft androgynes surrounding you.

---------------------------------------------------------------

You are the best of both worlds, and have absolutely no feeling of being either femme or butch. You see yourself as "you" and that's all that matters. You dislike labels, surprised yourself by even taking this test, and are now laughing as you identify with this definition!

You switch roles fluidly without thinking from nurturing/subordinate to providing/leading as the situation demands. You are often a jack or jill of all trades and master of a few, but not all.

In clothing you go for the practical, not always bothering with the concept of neatness if that interferes with comfort or the time it takes to get dressed. Wrinkles don't drive you crazy, though you do prefer to keep reasonably up to date in your style, without going to any extreme in it.

You are shy in many ways, being intimidated by overt aggression as well as complete silence in a conversation. You tend to babble to fill silent space and clam up when confronted.

Odds are good astrologically that you are a Libra, Pisces, Gemini, or Aquarius.

You're willing to try anything once as long as it does not pose a risk to you. You're also good at doing just about any job, as long as you find a way to get trained for it. Physically, you're average in fitness, not being overly concerned about being either "curvy" or "chisled". If you are female and have some endowments, you wear a bra in public but not at home.

For partners you are comfortable with all types, for you are a peacemaker and changeling at heart, changing yourself to fit the situation and avoid hostility. You aren't a doormat, though, and do express your opionions.

I think some of these are true, but not all. I don't mind labels (I'm not the type to get all touchy over it) and my sign is Cancer, so...

But I always saw myself as a little on the butch side. I mean my partner squeals because there's a bug in the house, and I have to kill it or catch it and throw it out. I don't care about fashion or hair care or my nails. I wear what's comfortable, not sexy, so yeah, those things are right.

When I think about the characters I find attractive though (i.e. Gabrielle and Emily), they tend to fall into this category: a little butch but definitely femme too. I never found one extreme or the other very attractive.

I think it's kinda neat how everyone I know who took it feels their answer matches them pretty well.

LOL @ the bug thing!! I know exactly what you mean!

Really now. Who wouldn't be attracted to Emily and Gabby? Emily is that perfect combination between butch and fem!

[identity profile] calliopes-muse.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, yes, Emily is the perfect combo.

I just told my partner about the results and she kind of laughed about it. She could see some of it in me, but not all of it. We did have a laugh about the bug thing, and she said, "I don't care if you ARE on death's door, you're killing that bug." I did literally have to kill a bug the other day when I felt so horrible, so she's a squealing little girl when it comes to that.

Now she wants to take it. This should be fun!

*g* mmhmm..

Wow. That's bug-phobia!

My gf took it and had the same one as you. But she won't go anywhere near a bug, snake or anything in between. (And she was the one who decided to get pregnant...somehow I think she's more fem than butch!)

[identity profile] calliopes-muse.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, my partner said something along the lines of "you're maternal but you don't want to carry the baby." Um, yeah, that's about it!!

[identity profile] sofia-lindsay.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That's kinda me. If Shay cries, I'm the first one there and all that. (Seriously, I spoil that kid!) But yeah, it'd be a cold day in Hell before I carried a baby!

[identity profile] calliopes-muse.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have done it for us if there had been no other way, but it wouldn't be because I had some deep desire to know what it was like to carry a child. She had that desire. I didn't/don't.

BTW, her results came back as Soft Androgyne, but the only part that was a nail-on-the-head was the part about education. That's a big, big deal for her.

[identity profile] sofia-lindsay.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
If it had came to that, down the road, I may have considered it. Certaintly not at the point in time when my gf decided (w.o telling me) that she had decided to have one! But there's always adoption!

Oi! Education sucks! (Not really, but it's my summer vacay..I'm allowed to think that! *g*)

[identity profile] calliopes-muse.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL...yes, you are. You're the one torturing yourself by trying to learn German and Arabic! WTF?! Are you crazy?!

[identity profile] sofia-lindsay.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey now! I decided on German! Arabic would have been the death of me I think!

Am I crazy? have ya talked to me?!

[identity profile] calliopes-muse.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, that was a rhetorical question! ;)

German is a good first step in foreign language torture. *nods*

Ooops! Sorry! *g*

*hehe* Don't let steppenwolf hear you say that!! (shh!! She doesn't know, but I'm totally tapping her to help me!!)
